Our History
2010
First Kick Up Your Heels events is held during G2E at Caesars Palace.
2011
Global Gaming Women begins as a development program of the American Gaming Association.
2012
Official Mission Statement is adopted: “To support the development and success of women in the international gaming industry through education, mentorship, and networking opportunities.”
2013
The GGW Education Fund is established, the concept for the Education Pyramid begins.
2015
First W Conference and Midwest Leadership Conference are launched.
2016
Global Gaming Women becomes an independent 501c (3) organization. Virginia McDowell named President.
2017
Global Gaming Women launches GGW Lean In Circles with 11 North American Circles.
2018
Great Women of Gaming Award.
2021
First European Lean In Circle Launches.
2022
Launch of the 10 Women Rising in Gaming awards program with CDC Gaming.
2024
Launch of Global Gaming Women’s official Fair Game Podcast.
2025
First Australian/New Zealand Lean In Circles launch.
2025
Launch of International Education Conferences in London and Australia.
2025
Launch of OneUpOneDown Mentorship Program.
